Football Roundup: Broncos Mount Fourth-Quarter Comeback Against Philadelphia, Ravens Endure Record Home-field Loss

Broncos Overcome Eagles in Thrilling Finish

Denver's quarterback found an 11-yard scoring throw and the running back added another rushing score in the final period as the Denver Broncos erased a two-touchdown disadvantage to deliver the Philadelphia Eagles their initial defeat of the campaign. Denver's defense batted down Jalen Hurts' final attempt on the game's concluding play to send the Super Bowl champions to just their second defeat in their previous 22 outings. Denver (three wins and two losses) got fortunate in their comeback when the Philadelphia had a crucial play called back on an illegal shift penalty whistled against running back Saquon Barkley.

Houston Texans 44–10 Baltimore Ravens

Houston's quarterback passed for 244 passing yards and four scoring throws, and the Texans (2-3) strolled to a 44-10 win over a depleted Baltimore team, matching both the most lopsided road win in Texans' history and the worst home defeat in Ravens' history. The Ravens (one win and four losses) were missing star signal-caller Jackson, and that was not their only problem. Defensive standouts Kyle Hamilton, Roquan Smith and Marlon Humphrey all missed the game, and the Baltimore already were weakened on that side of the ball because of a cervical issue that concluded Nnamdi Madubuike's campaign. Baltimore were also missing All-Pro fullback Patrick Ricard and offensive lineman Stanley.

Las Vegas Raiders 6–40 Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis' running back ran for three rushing scores and a two-pointer, and Daniel Jones threw two scoring throws as the Colts routed the Las Vegas Raiders. This decisive advantage was Indy's largest since 2013. Jones finished 20 of 29 for 212 passing yards and improved to four wins and one loss as the starting quarterback this season, surpassing his total wins over the past two seasons with the Giants. Taylor rushed 17 attempts for 66 rushing yards and caught three receptions for 20 receiving yards. Indianapolis turned a blocked punt, two interceptions and a turnover on downs into TDs. Las Vegas fell to 4-1.

Cowboys Soar Past Jets in High-Scoring Game

Dallas' quarterback passed for four touchdown passes, guiding the Dallas Cowboys to an easy victory over the Jets. Dallas scored on two 90-yard drives in the second period, despite being without key linemen on the offensive line. Javonte Williams ran for 135 rushing yards and a touchdown and also hauled in a TD pass. Dallas, now 2-2-1, rebounded from a high-scoring draw against Green Bay last week. New York remain winless at 0-5 in their new coach's first season as the leader.

Minnesota Vikings 21–17 Cleveland Browns

Minnesota wideout Addison caught a short scoring reception from the quarterback with under half a minute left to give Minnesota victory over the Cleveland Browns at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The 10-play, 80-yard drive gave the Minnesota (three wins and two losses) a much-needed win on their historic international road trip, which started with a 24-21 loss to the Steelers in Ireland last week. This also marred the rookie's first NFL start, as the Cleveland rookie positioned his squad (1-4) in contention by throwing two scores. Fellow rookie Quinshon Judkins rushed for 110 yards on 23 attempts. Wentz shook off a shoulder injury that temporarily sent him to the locker room and directed two scoring drives in the second half.

Panthers Stage Epic Comeback Against Dolphins

Carolina's quarterback passed for two touchdowns and Rico Dowdle rushed for 206 yards and a touchdown as the Panthers rallied past the Dolphins in their home stadium. Young's short pass to the first-year receiver with 1:59 to play gave the Carolina (two wins and three losses) the decisive advantage as they equaled the biggest rally to secure victory in team history by overcoming a large deficit. Young had a poor start, but he finished 19 completions on 30 attempts for 198 yards with one pick. The backup, replacing injured Chuba Hubbard, did his damage on the ground on 23 attempts, coming up four yards shy of the team's all-time rushing mark. The Dolphins' quarterback threw 27 of 36 for 256 yards with three scores and receiver Waddle gained 110 receiving yards on six catches and added a score, but the Dolphins (one win and four losses) fell to zero wins and three losses in away contests.

Saints Secure First Win Under New Coach

Spencer Rattler threw a long score to receiver Shaheed, defensive back Howden scooped up a loose ball 86 yards for a score, and New Orleans beat the error-prone Giants for the New Orleans' first victory under rookie coach Kellen Moore. Rattler earned his maiden win in 11 career starts, throwing for 225 yards without any mistakes. Giants rookie QB Dart, who secured his debut last Sunday, threw for 202 yards and two touchdowns, but also turned the ball over on three occasions. The Giants turned the ball over five times in all, none more costly than when the defender stripped ball carrier Skattebo, resulting in Howden's TD. Both teams are one win and four losses.
